Welcome to the Historical Society’s obituary search. Our research library holds an extensive collection of obituaries, most dating from the late 19th and the 20th centuries — a resource that greatly extends our card index of newspaper death and marriage notices.
The scrapbooks were compiled by many individuals over the years, so the collection is not claimed to be complete or comprehensive. We do, however, offer a comprehensive index to all 27 volumes — with thanks to library volunteer Anna Mary Sheffield, who entered the data, including the maiden names given in the obituaries.
